The Seleucid was a Greek gladiator who fought in the Arena in Cyrene. He typically fought armed with a glaive.
In 47 BCE, he was challenged by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa, who witnessed him throwing a sword at one of the spectators in the arena. Bayek later defeated the gladiator with a spear and shield.
Trivia
- The name Seleucid is a reference to the Seleucid Empire, possibly hinting that the gladiator originated from the state.
- It can be assumed the Seleucid's real name is "Antiogos" because of one of the commentator's lines before the fight: "Time has come for Antiogos, dragon of the Seleucid Empire!"
