Steropes

Steropes the Lightning Bringer was one of the cyclops, a hybrid-beast created by the Isu as part of the Olympos Project. During the 5th century BCE, the beast was held in a cave in Steropes Bay on the Greek island of Andros.

Between 429 and 422 BCE, the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, travelled to the bay and eliminated Steropes, recovering a bow from it's body.[1]

Trivia

  • Like Brontes, Steropes was the name of the one of the sons of Uranus and Gaia. The name, Στερόπης in Ancient Greek, meant 'lightning'.
