His own brother only recognized him due to a small carving of [[Eikþyrnir]] he had been holding. Sinric (died circa 885) was the Norse jarl of Elgring Clan in West Francia during the late 9th century. He was the brother of Sigfred and father of Toka Sinricsdottir.

Sinric and his clan lived in the north of Francia but were forced south by the forces of Charles the Fat, resettling in the town of Melun. Sometime before the Siege of Paris, Sinric was murdered in his sleep by Engelwin. The body was left out in the open, for the animals to take.
