The Shipwreck of Nestor was a shipwreck located next to a small island south of Messenia, Greece, during the 5th century BCE.

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra found the shipwreck and claimed its treasures, among them a figurehead featuring snakes for the ship Adrestia.[1]

Trivia

  • The shipwreck's name and description references Nestor, the king of Pylos and ruler of Messenia, who participated in the Trojan War in Greek mythology.
