Mucel (died 876), also known as The Lathe, was an Anglo-Saxon member of the Order of the Ancients's Wardens of Wealth sect during 9th century, holding the title Preost. Mucel also carried along another title among people, which was Heir to What He Tells. He was seen to work at the docks in Buckingham, Oxenefordscire.
Biography
Mucel was introduced to the Order by The Anvil, as Mucel was working under a young Æthelred. The Order saw high promise in Mucel, due to his crafting of ships and his creations of wooden torture devices.[1]
The Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir uncovered a particular clue, which gave the title, The Lathe. This first clue of three led Eivor to play and to defeat the dice champion at the inn in Buckingham, in northern Oxenefordscire for further information of this member's whereabouts. After winning the game against the dice champion, a second clue found led Eivor to find and ponder around a sealed chamber in Eatun Barn, east of Oxeneforda. Upon unsealing and looking around the chamber, Eivor found a note in a pile of rocks and pebbles. This last clue revealed both the location and name of The Lathe: Mucel. The target's destination revealed that Mucel was shipbuilding at the dock at Buckingham. Upon looking onto the docks, Eivor caught sight of an idle Mucel, sitting near his naval materials. Soon, Eivor assassinated Mucel and ended his work for the Order.[1]
After killing Mucel, Eivor looked among his personal effects and found a different clue that led to The Ash-Spear. The clue detailed that Eivor investigate the Ruined Tower northeast of Northwic in East Anglia, and find a note on top of a bandit-guarded cart.
Trivia
- The first clue of The Lathe can be obtained from either killing the Zealot Horsa or opening the Leah Villa Garrison chest.
- Like other inductions and rises through the Order, Mucel came to be part of the Order through another member, who was The Anvil, yet this relationship corresponds more to a fellowship rather than an upbringing.
