Kashta was an Egyptian Hidden One who was based in the Sinai Peninsula during the late 1st century BCE.

Biography

"We have Hidden Ones watching each of Rufio's lieutenants. They'll tell you anything you need to know."
―Kashta telling Bayek about his next steps, 38 BCE.[src]-[m]

In 38 BCE, Kashta was present at the Klysma bureau alongside Paanchi to greet the Mentor Bayek upon his arrival in Sinai.[1]

Shortly after the Order of the Ancients member Ptahmose was assassinated in 38 BCE, Kashta, Tahira, and their Mentor Bayek were ambushed at their bureau by Roman soldiers under the orders of Gaius Julius Rufio. The troops set fire to the building, resulting in the Hidden Ones fleeing the bureau and being captured. Kashta and Tahira were brought to Fort Clostra, where they were saved by Bayek and Amunet.[2]

When Tahira died from her wounds sustained during their capture, Kashta was furious and wanted revenge against Rufio, but Amunet instead instructed him to bury Tahira and leave Rufio to herself and Bayek After Rufio's assassination, Kashta and the rest of the Hidden Ones moved their bureau to a cave in the mountains behind Arsinoe.[3] Later on, he was present when Amunet and Bayek laid down the first tenet of their creed, to never harm innocent civilians.[4]

Behind the scenes

Kashta is a fictional character introduced in Assassin's Creed: Origins's 2018 downloadable expansion The Hidden Ones. Despite his fictional nature, he shares the same name with an 8th century BCE Kushite king.[5]
