Hilarus Maximus was a retired Roman gladiator who resided in Krokodilopolis, Egypt, during the reign of Ptolemy XIII. A former arena champion, Hilarus took to brawling in the streets of the city despite his old age. He would later take Bayek on as a apprentice, till he finally found work as a bodyguard in a local brothel.
