Dalkeith is a city in southern Scotland.
History
In 1296, the Scottish Brotherhood of Assassins hired Sören and his band to take Fillan and Ailéas from Berwick to Dalkeith,[1] a village then held by Patrick de Graham of Kincardine, who would oppose the invading Englishmen.[2]
When arriving, at the end of April, they found the village preparing for Bealltainn, as if the English hadn't invaded Scotland.[2] Before Bealltainn, however, an English patrol took up residence less than half a mile east of Dalkeith and Sören took Kyle Macdougall, Edan and Fillan to take care of it,[3] which they managed to do without alerting them.[4] Hundreds of people from neighbouring locations made their way to Dalkeith for the festivities, with many bonfires illuminating the city. People were out on the streets, dancing, drinking and laughing for an entire day.[5]
