The Abaton was a building that was located within the Sanctuary of Asklepios in Argolis, Greece.
Function[edit | edit source]
It was the dormitory where the patients of the sanctuary would withdraw to dream after a series of rites, hoping Asklepios, the god of healing, would grant them a vision of their cure.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the place while looking for her mother.[2]
