Talos the Stone Fist (died 431 BCE) was a Greek mercenary who lived during the 5th century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 431 BCE, Talos received an invitation to the Arena in Pephka. Soon afterwards, he was hired by the Cyclops of Kephallonia to hunt down the Spartan misthios Kassandra. Despite managing to track down his target, he ultimately fell at Kassandra's blade.[1]

Skills and equipment[edit | edit source]

Talos was considered a strong individual, being able to pound his enemies' heads into the rock faces of many Kephallonian mountains. Thus, he was given the epithet "Stone Fist" as a testament to this. He wore rusty armor and wielded an ordinary sword in combat.[2]

Behind the Scenes[edit | edit source]

Talos, a character in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares his name with a giant automaton created by Hephaistos from bronze at the request of Zeus to protect the Phoenician princess Europa from pirates and raiders. The automaton was famously eliminated when the sorceress Medea tricked him into removing the nail in his ankle so that the ichor which sustained him bled out.

In the gameplay description for Talos, his place of origin varies. Viewing him with Ikaros tags him with a regular mercenary avatar, but on rare occasions his mercenary avatar will be blue (uncommon) instead of purple (rare) or gold (legendary). As such, he is the only mercenary in the game with an uncommon rarity.

If Kassandra does not kill Talos, the bounty on Kassandra will dissipate after The Big Break, and Talos will stop hunting her. Talos can then be found anywhere in Greece near a message board if he is not hunting her.
