Lykomedes was the king of the island of Skyros, Greece, in Greek mythology.

Biography[edit | edit source]

He was the father of multiple daughters, and agreed to hide Achilles among them[1] at the request of Achilles' mother, Thetis, [citation needed] in order to protect the boy from his prophesied fate. Despite this attempt, fate found Achilles and took him to partake in the Trojan War.

Lykomedes also crossed paths with the hero Theseus, whom he threw to his death at the cliff later called Hero's Fall.[2]
