Federico Auditore da Firenze (1456 – 1476) was a Florentine noble and a member of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins. The eldest son of Giovanni and Maria Auditore, he was the older brother of Ezio, Claudia, and Petruccio, as well as the only Auditore child to be personally trained by Giovanni as an Assassin.
<h3 data-rte-empty-lines-before="1">Betrayal and death</h3>
By 1476, Federico had begun discreetly mentoring Ezio in the Assassins' ways at their father's request, teaching him such useful skills as fist-fighting and freerunning. However, he would never get the chance to complete his brother's training due to his arrest and execution as an alleged accomplice to Giovanni, who had been falsely accused of treason.

*The name Federico is derived from Germanic words frid, "peace" and ric, "ruler", with the meaning "peaceful ruler."
Federico lived a comfortable life with his family in the PalazzoAuditore of Florence,[2] and was originally schooled to become a banker in a Medicibank. However, he was a notorious slacker, and once hid a sack of the bank's money on the roof of the building as a joke. Being an Auditore, he was merely removed from the payroll and saved from harsher consequences.[3]
As the eldest child of the Auditore, Federico took defending his family quite seriously. When Antonio Maffei arrived at their palazzo in an attempt to capture Giovanni for the first time, Giovanni, having not yet recovered from a recent skirmish, elected to escape. Federico went to Giovanni, who instructed his son to buy him time, telling him to defend the family at all costs.[2]
Federico succeeded in delaying the guards long enough for Giovanni to leave, telling them that his father was not home. After the men barged into the house and discovered it empty of all but Federico and his mother, Federico kicked them out and told them to never doubt an Auditore again.[2]
