Byron King-Noel, Viscount Ockham, 15th Baroness Wentworth (1836 – 1862), best known as Byron Ockham, was an English baron, son of Ada Lovelace, and the brother of Anne Blunt.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Son of the mathematician Ada Lovelace and nobleman William King, Byron was shipped off to the Royal Navy in the 1850s. However, he later deserted his post and came back to London.[3][4] After being legally saved by his father, Byron found work as a shipbuilder in the ironworks. In 1861, he and Anne were invited to the home of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his partner Elizabeth Siddal in London, hosted by his mother's old friend, Pierrette Arnaud.[4]
At the party, Byron became part of a conversation between him, Anne, Pierrette, and Countess Konstanze von Visler, which was an attempt to garner any information about Oscar Kane. However, within the conversation, von Visler insulted Simeon Price and anyone who deserted their duty as a soldier. Feeling somewhat ashamed, he promised to help Price with his trial outcome.[4] In 1862, at the Horse Guards, Byron and his father came and influenced the judge to free Price. He later met Price and told him that he had helped him due to Arnaud and his friendship with his late mother.[5]

At Bath, Byron and Sawyer Halford came to help Simeon with his search for and fight against Oscar Kane. Along with Halford, he found himself in the company of Aurora Equestrian Troupe members, who came to aid Pierrette. Together, they stayed in an alley as Price ventured into the alley's hidden bunker. However, a battle ensued after a fight between Kane and Pierrette was initiated. Luckily, Byron and the others managed to overcome their enemies and made their way into the bunker. As Price and his allies were winning, Byron was suddenly overpowered by Kane, who hit and bludgeoned him strongly.[6]
