Old Wounds was a virtual representation of one of Basim ibn Ishaq's genetic memories relived through the Animus.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Basim returned to Anbar in search of Nehal.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Basim entered his old home in Anbar. Looking around, he found Nehal near the shelf.
- Nehal: Basim...? It's really you...
- Basim: Nehal, I...
Without saying a word, Nehal gave him a hug.

- Nehal: Say nothing, ya sadeeqi (friend), I am as sorry as you.
- Basim: I have so much to tell you.
- Nehal: And I you. We will grant each other an audience. But first, I must know something...
- Basim: What?
- Nehal: Why are you dressed like a peasant?
- Basim: Perhaps I have less to tell you than I thought.
- Nehal: I think I can surmise what our time apart has been like for you.
- Basim: And you? You have not been living here, I hope?
- Nehal: Less living, more working.
- Basim: On what?
Nehal pointed to a symbol on the wall.

- Basim: Why do I know this?
- Nehal: Because you have seen it. On the object we found at the Winter Palace. I have been trying to remember the specifics of its design.
- Basim: You have spent all this time obsessing over this symbol? Why?
- Nehal: Because I too have seen it before. I know not where or when. Only that I have. Whatever it is, it calls to me. I intend to unravel its mystery. And so should you.
Basim pondered over Nehal's words.

- Nehal: Ah, but of course, duty calls.
- Basim: Stop. I will bear in mind if it means you will spend more time outside these musty walls than you do within.
- Basim: You really do spare a thought for everyone, don't you, Basim?
- Basim: Araki Lahiqan.
Basim left the house.
- Basim: The Order of the Ancients are far from defeated. Master Roshan is certain to have a plan brewing to uproot them. ...and perhaps I should look into Nehal's obsession.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Basim decided to return to the Hidden Ones in Baghdad while keeping an eye out for information on the mysterious artifact for Nehal.
