The Blood Swine
- "Those who know the fine odor of pork will know the grunt of a snout only sated by blood of humans. This beast has killed seven bishops, all attacked during their sermons. Raiders dare not go near."
- ―A hunting log of The Blood Swine[src]

The Blood Swine was a legendary wild boar that lived in southern Eurvicscire, Northumbria. A gigantic boar, this legendary animal was an outlier, due to its size and four tusks, when compared to the general population of wild boars.
History[edit | edit source]
In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir travelled around the region of Eurvicscire. Along her journey, Eivor came across a hunting log, which gave an account of a wild boar that was warned to be a blood-thirsty and depraved animal. Eivor looked around the area of Bleasby Swamp, in Eurvicscire. However, Eivor came to see nothing of the animal, due to the tall grass masking its whereabouts. Upon entering its domain, Eivor startled the wild boar, which let out a loud squeal before it began attacking the warrior. After a gruesome battle, Eivor killed the creature and collected its head as her prize.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The swamp the wild boar lives on has a limited supply of winter chanterelle, cloudberries, and blackish purple russula with which to replenish Eivor's health and stamina, increasing the difficulty of the fight with the legendary creature.
