Hey Cristophorus,

I don't have Heresy myself, so I have to ask you: in the book, is the "Heart" explicitly called a Piece of Eden? Cause if it isn't, it should be referred to as Isu technology, a relic or artifact or something similar. Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you. Re:About Aphrodite and Satan[edit source]

Hello Cristophorus,

I'm afraid my knowledge in this particular area is rather limited, so I'm not sure how much I can be of help. I suppose this could be considered a decent source of information on Sumerian history. As for the Canaanite Pantheon, I'm afraid readily available sources are rather scarce. I suppose this could be a decent start. However, should you ever do a project on Greek Mythology, or otherwise simply wish to know more about it, then theoi.com is a great source of information on the topic. Shroud[edit source]

Left a response on my talk page. I don’t use Discord. How does it differ from just using this? I try to keep my internet footprint small. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 10:38, March 13, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, I see. No problem mate. Thanks for your answer regarding the Shroud. Now I can finally say (for now) that Jesus' shroud is lost.Cristophorus35 (talk) 04:30, March 18, 2018 (UTC)

Nice to see you are on the wiki how are you? Daryurian (The Mighty Turian) 14:18, September 10, 2018 (UTC)

Proto-Assassins & Proto-Templars[edit source]

Hey, I just opened up a discussion on our usage of the terms "proto-Assassin" and "proto-Templar". It's a long read, but I think is very important for us to clear this up because our wiki has been rather inconsistent about it, and we could cause some serious problems with it down the line. If you had the time, could you offer your input on it? Thanks. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 00:55, May 4, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, gonna give it a read now!Cristophorus35 (talk) 03:53, May 4, 2020 (UTC)

Merge Proposals[edit source]

Hey, Cris! I put this on discord too, but just in case you missed it I'll comment here too. I just opened up a discussion on our open merge proposals. It's quite long, but if we discuss it we can close them (especially because there are some from 2014 still unsolved :o)

If you have the time, could you offer some input? Thank you a lot. - Soranin (talk) 22:28, May 21, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your notice! Gonna take a look!Cristophorus35 (talk) 05:52, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Glyphs sandbox[edit source]

Hello Cristophorus,
I don't know if/when you'll next return, but I thought I should tell you that the Glyphs page has had a major update since you wrote your as-yet-unchanged Sandbox 1 in Feb 2019. I don't know if it renders whatever intended edits you'd planned for your project page moot, or if you'll adapt it as needed, but I thought you should know before you went any further on it. – Darman (talk) 01:40, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Homepage Update[edit source]

Hi,

My name is Des and I work with Fandom. Currently, I believe your admin team has been contacted by Lucas, who's also with Fandom. We've been tasked with updating the homepage. We want it to go live as soon as possible but I won't be able to implement it until much later in the evening today. My idea was to simply update the homepage with AC Shadows color scheme and art. Here is a link of the basic update. https://desbox.fandom.com/wiki/Desbox_Wiki

Outside of that everything else would just need a color change to #cc0000, not a lot of changes. I noticed you're the one who updates homepage.css and I figured I could ask if you wanted to swap over the color scheme. I can upload the requisite images or you can take them from my sandbox. Please just let me know what you think. I appreciate your time!

Hello Mako! Nice to meet you,
The redesign looks cool, it's concise and goes to the point. Nice! And yes, sure thing! I’m on board with the color change to #cc0000. Feel free to upload the images you’ve got-no worries there. Thank you kindly!

Block Information[edit source]

Hi, I am on the Customer Support Team.

We received a local block appeal from User:StrongAndStoic, who claims they are not a sock, despite sockpuppetry being listed on their block notice. Can you give me some details on this block, including what evidence you have that they are a sock account? Thanks! Kimberton (talk) 19:15, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi, Kimberton.
Of course; StrongAndStoic's own highlighted phrases in their post is an allusion to the sentiments vented by a recent account that was also banned for harassing staff members (here and here).
Cristophorus35 (talk) 03:16, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
Is that the only evidence you have? Using the term pyrrhic victory is not reason enough to ban someone, especially as I can find no evidence they are a sock account. Kimberton (talk) 16:39, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
It's not just the phrase they use, but also the intention behind it, which is to provoke. We've been dealing with weekly attempts like this to bait moderation. My reasoning for banning them for being a sock was the timing between these posts, and I opted for locking the post and soft-banning them. Cristophorus35 (talk) 08:25, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
I understand the frustration, but absent any evidence to confirm they are a sock account this does not appear to be a valid block. A user simply using similar terms is not proof of bad faith editing and it is not fair to read any implication into their intention. Kimberton (talk) 14:16, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello Kimberton, I have an earnest question. Putting aside this case for the moment, in the hypothetical situation where an editor has been banned for edit warring and then multiple accounts follow to try to make the same edits to the same page, would this alone count as admissible evidence of sockpuppetry even if none of their IP or e-mail addresses match? In other words, is it a requirement that the IP and e-mail addresses match in order for Fandom to determine that an account is a sockpuppet of another? Or otherwise, what other forms of evidence could be considered admissible? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 04:34, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Hi, I try not to deal with hypotheticals because every situation has some nuance to it. However, just the act of editing the same article typically isn't enough evidence to support a block if there is no account or IP information that confirms they are a sock. You might locally block them for it, but if they appeal, as the user in the above issue has done, and there is no evidence to support the block reason, we would ask that the block be removed unless the other accounts are also edit warring - then they could be locally blocked for that violation. Kimberton (talk) 17:25, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
So suppose an analogous scenario where a user has been banned for harassment but new accounts continue attacking the same user(s) over the same issues, with the message content being the same. Not all users are editors. In this case, their target is a person instead of a page, the behaviour is harassment not edit warring, and the identical content are the messages instead of the edits. I was going to ask if this wouldn't also be evidence of a sockpuppet at work, but your answer already tells me you wouldn't recognize this as such either.
In this scenario then, what can Fandom do to protect our community from a troll using VPN to perpetuate harassment through sockpuppetry? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:33, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
I won't deal in hypotheticals as there is nuance to every situation and what might apply to one situation may not apply to another. If you would like to discuss ways we can help protect the wiki I encourage you to send us a ticket to Special:Contact. For this issue, however, there seems to be no evidence other than their use of "pyrrhic victory" so please remove the block. Kimberton (talk) 20:40, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
Except I have in fact only been describing real cases that our wiki has been dealing with for many years. Fandom should've already known this. Do you not at the very least see reasons to suspect PyrrhicVictory27 as a sockpuppet?
Our wiki has decided against filing a support ticket because this conversation about protecting our wiki from harassment has to be a transparent one between Fandom and our community, and not one that occurs behind closed doors. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:46, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
I am all for transparency, but I suggested filing a ticket so that sock accounts and bad faith users cannot see the specific restrictions and adjust accordingly. Kimberton (talk) 18:28, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
You say there is no evidence but have you asked them about their intent behind the post? If so we aren’t asking you to relay their response to us, just does it pass the smell test. If not could you ask who they specifically meant in the second paragraph and why emphasize the phrase they did? We aren’t looking to trap them as we expect them to have seen this message before you ask should you so choose. We just want you to see how they answer.
Because to us this isn't a hypothetical. "Pyrrhic Victory" wasn't just used but particularly bolded, the name of a now banned account that was harassing members of our staff "on behalf" of another banned account that has previously admitted to sockpuppetry (also banned) that didn't share the same IP address.
The staff here is united on this issue. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:28, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
I have and it does. Please remove the block. Kimberton (talk) 14:48, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Very well, the user has been unblocked and can now engage in regular activities. However, I must emphasize that our actions were not without reason. As my colleagues have explained, it was not just for the simple use of a specific term by a newly created user in a provocative first post, but also the context and emphasis of their message, such behavior does not demonstrate good faith. If sockpuppetry is not considered a valid reason, then griefing certainly is, as it was considered harassment in the ban’s additional descriptions and violates our community guidelines.Cristophorus35 (talk) 22:26, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
The basis of your claim that this is griefing and sockpuppeting is based on the content of a post, which is not evidence to support banning someone. I don't want you to feel as though I am telling you you are wrong for blocking them, but without evidence to support the block and an appeal from the user it needs to be removed. If they do, in fact, turn out to be a sock they will be banned globally. Given the absence of evidence the best course of action with the information I have available to me was to request an unblock. Kimberton (talk) 16:08, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

Interwiki user[edit source]

Hi Cristophorus.
I noticed that [User:Perninha16545] has started writing part of a timeline in their blog space. While that's their own space, it seems to be written all in Portuguese. As I don't speak it, could you ping their talk page and suggest they move it to their local site instead, since this one is for ENG stuff? Thanks. – Darman (talk) 21:35, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello Darman.
Thanks for the heads up. I reviewed it and would say their actions do not involve taking further steps. Of course, the official language is English, as remarked in our Manual of Style (Language and Grammar) for both our wiki website and its affiliated Discord server. However, since the content isn't malicious and they're using their personal blogs as drafts, there's no harm done. Would you prefer if I suggest they use the sandbox pages instead? I'll be awaiting your response.Cristophorus35 (talk) 01:59, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
Sure, a sandbox could work. I didn't think it was malicious, though I see how it could have been read as such. Rather, I thought it might be better if they kept all their work on their local site instead of hopping between here and there, seeing as they seem quite dedicated to their timeline so far. – Darman (talk) 02:10, 7 March 2025 (UTC)

Undelete page[edit source]

Is is possible to undelete a page from long ago? Going through some Ragnarök place/character pages, I see we have people still filed as [Category:Jotnar]—and also [Category:Muspels]—even though you deleted the Jotnar category and its talk page last Nov after community consensus. However, I cannot recall that was, and given the Isu/Jötnar/Muspel syncretism mess, it may be useful to keep as a record to point others towards to differentiate the groups. – Darman (talk) 20:35, 19 March 2025 (UTC)

The page has been restored to allow you to archive the consensus. You may review it here. Kindly inform me once you have completed archiving it, so I can proceed with its deletion again.
Cristophorus35 (talk) 22:07, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for undeleting it, I didn't know it was possible after so long. It seems there was still uncertainty about whether to keep the category and have it for non-Isu figures like Calder, so I'm not sure if it should be deleted again. If you have an opinion on it, could you also write it on the page? As well, I believe "archiving" is done not by copy/pasting messages elsewhere but by leaving the page as-is and using {ArchivedTalk} that Soranin made. – Darman (talk) 22:40, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

Discord ban[edit source]

Hello I'd like to enquire about my ban from the Discord server a few months ago. I understand Fandom cannot control bans from Discord servers. Not entirely sure why I was banned, IIRC I literally joined and was banned maybe an hour later.. but I wanted to see about perhaps getting it lifted. Thank you. .WKR (talk) 20:21, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

Revenge[edit source]

In the Shadows memories template, the Revenge MEMORY instead leads to the Revenge BOAT, and it needs to be fixed (since I can’t do it). unsigned comment by MrWii000 (talk · contr) 05:14, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Curse memory date ref[edit source]

Since I found Aymar's tweets clarifying dates for Curse DLC memories, do we still want to keep the Discord refs pic or delete it? Can't recall if tweets predate your screenshots, but multiple refs for something aren't unheard of on here, either. – Darman (talk) 02:55, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Oh, his tweet definitely predates my screenshots. He posted the referred link in 2018, I took those screenshots in 2023. So, unless we've been misinformed by the IP team, I recommend keeping this change. Not only because of this but also because the CotP intro suggests it's been four years since "[they] laid the last to rest". This couldn't possibly refer to their son, as the Order of Ancients was still out there, this when they thought the Order was a regional threat only. So it's possible she meant Rufio. (And when they buried all romantic feelings for each other, on a physical/present level. They were still a platonic couple, I'd say. Their love never truly banished, no matter how determined they were to deny it.) Cristophorus35 (talk) 18:15, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
Cool. I'll still use the tweets as another ref, then, since I think they give context to fans saying "something's amiss with dates" so soon after DLC release and as far as I know, it's the earliest he would have addressed the issue. – Darman (talk) 23:55, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
