Smithe Homestead

Smithe Homestead was an Anglo-Saxon farm build along the River Severn to the northwest of Llanidloes and northeast of Wyther Farm. It consisted of a single farmstead.

In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and their raiding crew on his longship.^[1]
