Kraka was the name given to a male Jötnar warrior who lived in Svartálfaheimr.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Not much was known about 'Kraka', except he was part of the Jötnar invasion into the Svartálfaheimr. However, Kraka was injured in the battle and transformed himself in the guise of a wounded raven. Kraka was found and named by the dwarven blacksmith, Skavi, who took care of Kraka as his own. For repayment for Skavi's care, Kraka used to find treasures for Skavi. At one moment, Kraka went to find himself on a floating Muspel monolith as he sought its treasure. However, Kraka was captured by the Muspel warriors stationed there. After a brief time, Kraka was found by the Æsir lord, Havi, who was sent to retrieve him. Being freed by Havi, Kraka revealed his history with Skavi and asked him to collect the treasure on the monolith for Skavi. Kraka also told Havi that he would leave, as to not take further advantage of Skavi. Upon their deal, Kraka transformed to a raven and left immediately.[1]
