Eastern Fortification, River Severn

The Eastern Fortification was a large Anglo-Saxon fortification along the River Severn in the southern part of the region, southeast of the Fishing Docks. It was guarded by a significant military force.

In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by the Vikings Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and her longship crew.^[1]
