Abstergo Industries Australia facility

I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name? This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given. |

The Abstergo Industries Australia facility was a secret complex belonging to Abstergo Industries located in Australia's desert and overseen by the Inner Sanctum member Dr. Álvaro Gramática.
History[edit | edit source]
Phoenix Project[edit | edit source]
On 13 October 2014, the Assassins Shaun Hastings and Galina Voronina attacked Abstergo's facility in Paris, France, destroying the lab, its Phoenix Project samples from the late Sage John Standish, and the original Shroud of Eden that held the captive consciousness of the Isu scientist Consus.[1] By December, Dr. Gramática was relocated to the new Australia facility, both for his own safety and in an attempt to restart the Phoenix Project from scratch, though he despaired at the thought because so much critical research and samples had been lost.[2] His premonitions proved right when he had no significant progress on the project over the next year, a fact he bitterly resented.[3]
When fellow Inner Sanctum member Isabelle Ardant arrived on 25 September 2015, she told Gramática that the Indian Assassin Arbaaz Mir—whom the Templars had information on from the Brahman V.R. in 2013—had fathered the British Assassin Henry Green, who later came into contact with another Shroud of Eden once worn by the British Templars' Grand Master Crawford Starrick back in the Victorian era. Ecstatic at another lead, he demanded she call the Master Templar Juhani Otso Berg to begin a search for it immediately.[3]
Almost a month later, on 14 October, Gramática revealed to a visiting Ardant that an Abstergo clinic had contacted the facility with the genealogical results of the late Desmond Miles' son Elijah and identified him as a Sage, thus providing the Templars with another chance to restart the Project.[4]
Later that same year, after the Templars recovered a Precursor box from the Assassins, the Inner Sanctum member Laetitia England tasked Berg to deliver it to Gramática at his facility, which only the doctor knew the location of. After receiving the lab's coordinates from Gramática, Berg arrived with the box and presented it to the doctor, who enthusiastically stated that it would aid him in the Phoenix Project.[5]
Resurrection Day[edit | edit source]

By August 2018, Gramática was in charge of and secluded in the facility, with only him and Berg knowing its location. Happily alone, the doctor was surprised by the Templar traitor Violet da Costa, who led the Instruments of the First Will there along with Elijah and their captive, André Bolden.[6] Taken prisoner, Gramática reluctantly worked alongside Violet to finish a clone for Juno's consciousness to inhabit. Using stem cells forcibly taken from Elijah and with the Shroud of Eden acting as an accelerant to the clone's growth, the body was nearly completed.[7]
The next day, the Instruments readied themselves for Berg's arrival while Violet and Jasdip Dhami checked on Gramática's work with Juno's body. Meanwhile, Richmond took care of Elijah after his surgery, but Elijah secretly gained access around the facility after short-circuiting his room's door.[8]
Inhabiting the new body, Juno demanded that Gramática release her. Meanwhile, Elijah locked Richmond inside his room,[8] and killed him with a screwdriver as revenge for his murder of Elijah's mother. Violet and Jasdip greeted Berg at the front door and surrounded him with their Instruments. However, the Assassin Galina Voronina shot her sniper rifle at Dhami's head while Berg killed the incoming Instruments. Bringing down the onslaught, the Assassins Arend Schut-Cunningham and Kiyoshi Takakura launched their missiles and took out the entrance's guards. Together, they all infiltrated the facility.[9]
The Assassin Charlotte de la Cruz ventured through the facility's sole air vent and witnessed Juno attack Gramática. Trying to assassinate her, Charlotte was instead caught by the Isu and immobilized. Elijah came and used the Koh-i-Noor to create visions to lead Charlotte's allies to them. Together, Elijah and Charlotte put Juno in a trance, which made her believe she had killed her attackers but was confronted by Consus. In truth, the Templars and Assassins witnessed Juno use her powers aimlessly and bring down the lab around them, which inadvertently killed Gramática.[9]

Juno barely snapped out of the vision and asked Elijah for help. However, Charlotte assassinated her while Elijah made his escape after denouncing both Juno and Aita. The Instruments planned one last assault against the Templars and Assassins, but were surrounded by an Abstergo strike team. Berg shot a disarmed Violet and detonated a Skunkworks bomb to destroy the lab. Charlotte, unable to escape in time, was killed by the explosion while Elijah secretly fled with the Koh-i-Noor.[9]
