Aldwyn was an Anglo-Saxon man who lived in Yorkshire, England during the 9th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Aldwyn was an ale brewer who lived in Taedden's Shelf, Yorkshire. He was often the target of women's romantic advances, but declined all their requests, preferring to spend his attention on perfecting his ale.

When the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan came across his house, she met Bertha, one of the women interested in Aldwyn. Bertha requested Eivor's aid in wooing Aldwyn. Eivor did some research and suggested Bertha complement his ale. The trick worked and Aldwyn soon invited Bertha inside.[1]
