They call me many things: Murderer. Cutthroat. Thief. But you may call me AC. This article is about a subject that lacks an official name and is known only by its nickname, title, or alias. |
AC was a member of the Hidden Ones in the late 9th century, based in Francia. Despite the closure of the Frankish bureaus around the 5th century CE, not all the Hidden Ones left Francia. AC dedicated themselves to keeping the former bureaus safe, assassinating soldiers that attempted to break into them.[1]
During her time in Francia, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir managed to unlock the entrance to the abandoned Hidden Ones' bureau in Paris and explored it. Before Eivor could leave, she heard the soft footsteps of AC, who had left her a strange letter with an apology for the dead soldiers and a poem:
- "This place of honor forever holding, the deeds that were done
We abide always many in number, yet together are one
Whose firm faith and whose lonely labor, serve only the fight
I must yet stay unknown in the darkness, so you may work in the light."[1]
Eivor kept the short sword she had found inside the bureau as a gift.[1]
