An individual known as The False Leonidas was an elderly mercenary who operated druing the Peloponnesian War.

Baring a close resemblance to the late King Leonidas I of Sparta, the mercenary claimed to be the king ressurected, though his claims was not well-believed. The few of those who do gave him contracts and confirmed their thoughts when he succeeded in completing them.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, he was hunted by the Spartan misthios, Kassandra.[1]
