The Depth of the Forge

The Depth of the Forge was the name for the depths of the volcanic isle, Foundry of Hephaistos, located east of Argolis, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was sent by an elderly woman in the Port of Kechries, Korinthia, to find the helmetof Gorgophone within the depths.^[1] Along the way, Kassandra found that the Followers of Ares had set up a camp therein, and proceeded to slay their leader and claim their valuables.^[2]
