The Terrors of Kyknos were a group of bandits active in Greece during the 5th century BCE.

History

During the Peloponnesian War, gang attacked the lighthouse on the southern tip of Isle of Salamis, and robbed it, taking with them the Golden Feather of Ajax and scaring the lighthouse keeper.^[1]

Afterwards, the gang claimed the Mycenaean Tomb of Ajax on the island as their base of operations. It was there where the Spartan misthios Kassandra found them and slew them, claiming the feather from the corpse of their leader.^[1]

Trivia

It is uncertain which Kyknos the name of the gang references.
The word κύκνος (kúknos) is Greek for 'swan'.
