Swenett

Swenett, currently known as Aswan, is an Egyptian town located in the Yebu Nome, south of Thebes Nome in Upper Egypt.

In 38 BCE, the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa visited the town during his quest to solve a "curse" that was plaguing the city of Thebes.[1] Also during the 1st century BCE, the Hidden Ones Nashwa and Khepri went to Aswan, tracking down the Order of the Ancients member known as The Medicine for Khepri to complete Khepri's training.[2]

History

In 38 BCE, Amunet sent Bayek a letter with rumors of another powerful relic, this time in Upper Egypt. While investigating in Thebes, Bayek learned of someone called "the Lotus" who was also looking for the artifact and whose ship was docked in Swenett, filled with pelts and wine.[3] He then left for Swenett, looking for more information and discovering the ship's manifesto and eventually, the Lotus' identity.[4]

As part of Khepri's training as a Hidden One, she and Nashwa went to Aswan. There, he had her climb atop the pyramid in Elephantine to help locate the cartographer they'd need to convice to give them a map of the area. From her high viewpoint, Khepri saw the cartographer trip and the pages he'd been holding being scattered by the wind. She collected the pages, jumping around the different buildings in Aswan, and handed them to the cartographer, who gave her the map of the Temple of Philae in thanks. Nashwa remained in Aswan while Khepri went after The Medicine in the temple, though both returned to Memphis once the job was done.[2]
