[[File:|thumb|250px|Potidaia]] Potidaia, alternatively Potidaea (Ancient Greek: Ποτίδαια, Ποτείδαια) was an polis in Greece, located in the Triple Peninsula of Chalkidike region of Makedonia.

Founded as a colony by Korinth to make trade easier in Makedonia, Potidaia sought the help of Sparta and Korinth against Athens and their excessive demands, leading to a siege by Athens in 430 BCE. This battle served as a catalyst for the Peloponnesian War.[1]

During the war, the partly destroyed colony was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
