Pedasos was a resident of the town of Opous in Lokris, Greece during the 5th century BCE. He was the husband of Katina and the adoptive father of Supideo.

Biography

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was passing through the village when she overheard an argument between Pedasos, Katina and Supideo. Stepping in, Kassandra learned that Supideo had visited the Pythia and had been foretold by her that he would do something dreadful to his parents. This led to Supideo asking Kassandra to recover his sword and shield so that they would have means of protection. The sword was held by Kosta, the village blacksmith, and the shield had been stolen by the female leader of the bandit camp by the Red Lake.[1]

Kassandra managed to retrieve the sword and the shield, momentarily setting Supideo's mind at ease until Pedasos and Katina revealed to him that Kosta and the bandit leader were, in fact, his real parents.[1]
