Paul Verlaine (1844 - 1896) was a late-19th century French poet known for his contributions to the symbolist and decadent literary movements at the time.[1] In 1873, Paul and his lover Arthur Rimbaud traveled to Brussels together, but hit a rough patch when he tried to shoot at Rimbaud in a jealous, drunken accident.[2]
