The Path to the Underworld formed the eastern region of the simulation of Hades. It was the entrance to Hades itself and featured the realm's portal. One of the four regions in Hades, it was home to a giant bridge over a steep cliff that connected to the Passage of Souls.
Shortly after defeating the Cerberos and retrieving its artifact, the misthios Kassandra crossed the bridge, meeting the realm's ruler Hades along the way. The god of the underworld demanded Kassandra to locate and recruit four heroes to serve as Cerberos' replacements for the gates to Hades.[1]
