Anaxagoras (c. 510 BCE – c. 428 BCE) was a Greek philosopher who lived during the 5th century BCE.

A friend of the Athenian general, Perikles, he was ostracized and forced to leave Athens in 431 BCE. The philosopher Sokrates also considered him as one of his mentors.[1]
