Konwahawíshon is one of the Kanien'kehá:ka village leaders during the 9th century. Along with Karonhiaktátie', they are in charge of tending to their people and the village's activities. Her village is recorded to be in a land marked as Vinland during the 800s.

Biography

Not much was known of Konwahawíshon's childhood, but as an adult, Konwahawíshon appeared to be one of the village leaders of Kanien'kehá:ka. She appeared first when meeting Viking shieldmaiden Eivor, who arrived at their village seeking answers of Gorm Kjotvesson.[1] However, the conversation between Eivor and the village leaders, Konwahawíshon and Karonhiaktátie', was stagnant as neither party could communicate the other's language. However, when Sýnin landed on Eivor, Konwahawíshon dropped her suspicions and thus Karonhiaktátie' did as well. Appearing to be a friendly, Eivor was led by Konwahawíshon to the village's waterfall. When closing in, Eivor heard and then saw that Konwahawíshon led Eivor to a crazed Norse man, Olav. After introducing Eivor to Olav, Konwahawíshon took her leave.[1]

As Olav told Eivor where she might start her hunt for Gorm, Konwahawíshon walked around her village as Eivor set on her path.[2] After Gorm's assassination, Eivor returned to deliver the good news to Olav, who then invited her to the storytime of the Kanien'kehá:ka. The first speaker was Konwahawíshon herself, with some of the village's adults and children, including Karonhiaktátie'. During her story, Eivor joined in the middle of Konwahawíshon's story. After her story concluded, Eivor then told her story to the audience. At the end of her story, Eivor talked with both village leaders and showcased the Crystal Ball she took from Gorm. Eivor gave Konwahawíshon the Crystal Ball for protection and for the possibility of knowing its true use. After giving the Crystal Ball, Eivor gave her thanks to Konwahawíshon and Karonhiaktátie' and said her goodbyes to them.[3]
