Gortyn is a municipality and an archaeological site on the Greek island of Crete. In classical antiquity, it existed as a city-state alongside Lato and Kydonia on the island. The city's law code was also the oldest of the Occidental world.

  • In Greek mythology, the city was where Europa, the wife of Zeus, gave birth to Minos, the King of Crete.
