Gelon

Gelon was a Greek pirate who served as the captain of the Shark's Tooth, operating during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography

At some point, Gelon and a member of her crew, Gyke, fell in love with each other. As a mark of her affection, Gelon gave Gyke a bracelet engraved with their names. She also made Gyke a temporary captain of ship whenever she's not around.^[1]

In 431 BCE, Gelon travelled to the Sanctuary of Delphi to made a deal with the Pythia. The Pythia would provide Gelon with the pilgrims' locations, and Gelon would ship them to Phokis, sharing the profit with the oracle. Secretly however, Gelon plotted to send Gyke to trap some pilgrims in the cove and keep the riches to herself.^[1]

Gelon later returned to Kirrha where she had docked her ship. However, it was nowhere to be found. Gelon later came across the misthios Kassandra, requesting her aid to find out what had happened to her ship and crew. She sent Kassandra to investigate the shorelines in the Hill of the Sacred War, where pilgrims were known to frequent. Kassandra did so, discovering that the Shark's Tooth had sunk, taking Gyke and the crew with it. After looting the leftover treasure chests, Kassandra returned to Gelon, reporting the fate of her crew and Gyke.^[1]

Trivia

At the conclusion of Crewless, Gelon can be recruited by Kassandra as a crewmember aboard the Adrestia, serving as one of the lieutenants under her command.^[1]
