Epiktetos the Forthcoming (died 431 BCE) was a member of The Silver Vein branch of the Cult of Kosmos, who lived during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography

Following the move of The Master from the Silver Vein to the Eyes of Kosmos, the Cult welcomed Epiktetos in his place into the Vein.[1]

He had made name for himself by building deadly and efficient ships, and this was believed to serve well his Sage as well as Kosmos.[1]

Epiktetos was present when the Cult met in the Sanctuary of Kosmos under the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis during 431 BCE. During the meeting Deimos revealed that a fellow member, Elpenor, had been killed. This was deemed to be a sign that there was a traitor within the ranks of the Cult, and Deimos demanded the members to touch the artifact in the shrine in order to find the guilty party.[2]

Following the confusion caused Deimos by the appearance of his sister and Elpenor's killer, the Spartan misthios Kassandra, Deimos singled out Epiktetos as the traitor, and beat him to death.[2]
