Dmitry Karakozov (1840 – 1866) was a Russian political activist who became known as the first revolutionary in the Russian Empire to make an attempt on the life of a tsar. He was one of the young apprentices inducted by the British Assassin Simeon Price during the Assassin's time in Russia.
In 1866, he made a failed attempt to assassinate Tsar Alexander II and was hanged for his crime, while his friends and accomplices were sent to either prison, hard lobor, or exile in Siberia.[1]
