Adrestia (deity)
Adrestia is the Greek goddess of revolt, the balance between good and evil, and just retribution. As the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite she often accompanies Ares during his wars.
Influence
Sometime before the Peloponnesian War, Barnabas became the captain of a trireme named after the goddess.[1]
Trivia
- According to the Greek myths, Adrestia is the sister of Eros, Anteros, Phobos, Deimos and Harmonia.
- The Greek word Ἀδρήστεια means 'inescapable' or 'she who cannot be escaped', and was also an epithet of the goddess of retribution, Nemesis.
