Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is an upcoming game for the PlayStation Vita, which is developed by Ubisoft Sofia. It is to be released alongside Assassin's Creed III on 30 October 2012.

The game is set between 1765 and 1780, and primarily features Aveline de Grandpré, a female French-African Assassin around the end of the French and Indian War.[1]

It will also be set in and around New Orleans and the Louisiana Bayou, and the Bayou, with its swamp-like surroundings, will host many wild animals and dangerous threats. These include alligators and smugglers, making trees a safer alternative for traveling through the area.[2]

As well as this, the game also includes a variety of weapons from previous installments, as well as a sugar-cane machete, pistols, a blowpipe, cleavers and grenades. Another modern-day Assassin will be reliving the life of Aveline, instead of Desmond Miles.[3]

Liberation will also include multiplayer "specifically tailored to the Vita experience,"[1] and will utilise cross-goods between itself and Assassin's Creed III on the PlayStation 3, with linking the two titles unlocking Connor Kenway's tomahawk. Accompanying this, pre-order content will feature for the game in a "Mysteries of the Bayou" pack, including an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character, a dagger and an upgrade in ammunition. In an exclusive edition (excluding pre-order content), the game will also be bundled with a special "Crystal White PS Vita Wi-Fi."[4]

Liberation will also include a new "touch to kill" option, allowing Aveline to chain kills once a certain number of attacks have already been executed.
