Aspasia (c. 470 BCE – c. 400 BCE) was an influential immigrant to Athens and the lover and partner of the statesman Pericles.
Reportedly a brilliant thinker and speaker, Aspasia was known to be an exceedingly beautiful woman who later became a hetaerae, hosting parties and events for the great thinkers, artists, and politicians of her time.
