They call me many things: Murderer. Cutthroat. Thief. But you may call me The False Leonidas.

This article is about a subject that lacks an official name and is known only by its nickname, title, or alias.

This article is about a mercenary who resembled Leonidas. You may be looking for Leonidas, the King of Sparta.

The False Leonidas (died 420s BCE) was an elderly mercenary who operated druing the Peloponnesian War.

Bearing a close resemblance to the late King Leonidas I of Sparta, the mercenary claimed to be the king resurrected, though his claim was not widely believed. The few who did gave him contracts and confirmed their beliefs when he succeeded in completing the contracts.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War he was hunted by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who herself was a granddaughter of Leonidas.[1]
