*Both [[Minerva ]] and Juno are found to link to the 8 [[Monteriggioni Statuettes]] in [[Assassin's Creed 2]] , in which [[Ezio]] has to collect them throughout [[Monteriggioni]] . If so there might be 8 Vaults all together. One for each statuette - Minerva, Juno, Mars, Apollo, Venus, Neptune, Diana and Jupiter.
*As [[Minerva ]] was seen in the first [[Vault ]] and [[Juno ]] was seen in the second Vault, we can speculate that certain Roman Gods can be found in particular Vaults.

The Temples are locations throughout the world built by Those Who Came Before, in order to prevent the repeat of the catastrophe that had ensured their extinction.

History

According to Minerva in Assassin's Creed II, the Temples were built by the members of her race "who knew to turn away from war" — presumably those who did not fight or did not want to fight in the war between the humans and Those Who Came Before . The reason for this was an unknown catastrophe that significantly damaged the Earth and killed off most of both species. Minerva tasked Desmond Miles (speaking to him through his ancestor, Ezio Auditore) with locating the Temples in Modern Times and averting another cataclysm.

In AC Brotherhood it is presumed that the Vault underneath the Santa Maria Aracoeli is infact, The Temple of Juno . “Supposedly it [[[Santa Maria Aracoeli]] ] was built on top of the ‘Temple of Juno’" stated by Shaun Hastings as he enters the church alongside Lucy , Desmond and Rebecca .
