Talos the Stone Fist (died 431 BCE) was a mercenary who lived during the 5th century BCE.

Biography

In 431 BCE, Talos received an invitation to the Arena in Pephka. Soon afterwards, he was hired by the Cyclops of Kephallonia to hunt down the Spartan misthios Kassandra. Talos eventually engaged Kassandra in combat in Kephallonia, and fell.[1]

Equipment and skills

Talos was considered a strong individual, being able to pound his enemies' heads into the rock faces of many Kephallonian mountains. Thus, he was given the epithet "Stone Fist" as a testament to this. He wore rusty armor and wielded an ordinary sword in combat.[2]

Behind the Scenes

Talos, a character in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares his name with a giant automaton created by Hephaistos from bronze at the request of Zeus to protect the Phoenician princess Europa from pirates and raiders. The automaton was famously eliminated when the sorceress Medea tricked him into removing the nail in his ankle so that the ichor which sustained him bled out.

In the gameplay description for Talos, his place of origins varies.
