The Sacred Way was a road leading from Athens' acropolis to the Sanctuary of Eleusis located in Attika, Greece. It passed through the gate located in the Kerameikos quarter of Athens, with the Propylea marking its end in Athens.

During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra traversed the road, along the way beholding the statue in Athens watching over the road.[1]
