Phoibe was an Athenian girl who became the protégé of the Misthios during the Peloponnesian War.^[1]

Orphaned on Kephallonia, Phoibe endured a hard childhood through which she found the Misthios, a Spartan exiled at an early age, deeply relatable. In turn, the girl's personality and background resonated with the Spartan, and the two forged a fierce bond akin to that of a mentor and pupil.^[1]

Personality and characteristics

Phoibe was a feisty girl with a passionate sense of independence. These qualities endeared her to the Misthios, but her stubbornness nonetheless challenged their relationship at times.^[1]
