Paul Verlaine (1844 - 1896) was an French poet in the late 19th century. In 1873, Paul and his lover Arthur Rimbaud traveled to Brussels together, but hit a rough patch when he tried to shoot at Rimbaud in a jealous, drunken accident.[1]
