Pagai was an ancient Greek harbour in Megaris on the Korinthian Gulf, serving as a port town for Megara.
History
Given its location, Pagai was considered strategically important, in both the Persian War as well as during the Peloponnesian War. During the latter the Spartans established a small camp near the town while conquering Megaris.[1]
In 431 BCE the misthios Kassandra visited the camp near the town, helping a Spartan polemarch to recover a tablet stolen by an Athenian spy. Tracking him to the forest southwest of the camp, Kassandra recovered the tablet and returned it to the polemarch.[2]
