Odessa was a Greek adventurer and a descendant of Odysseus who lived during the 5th century BCE.

Sometime in 431 BCE she made the acquaintance of the Spartan misthios Kassandra.

Biography

Named after Odysseus, Odessa traveled with the Spartan misthios Kassandra, to his palace on Ithaka on a quest to learn more about him. Disappointed with what she found, she decided to return home to Megaris.[1]

Odessa later met Kassandra again at her home in Megaris. Kassandra helped Odessa by gathering herbs for her ill father. After treating her father, Odessa and Kassandra were attacked by bandits. One of the bandits had a letter on him, revealing they were after Odessa on the orders of the leader of Megaris.[2]

Odessa asked for Kassandra's aid in finding out, who wanted her dead and why. The evidence that Kassandra retrieved revealed that her assailants were after her estate, and on one occasion had even killed one of Odessa's past suitors. Odessa would later join Kassandra as one of her lieutenants aboard the Adrestia.[3]
