Metiochos was an Athenian politician and a loyal friend of Perikles who lived during the 5th century BCE.

During the Peloponnesian War after Metiochos failed to meet with Perikles, the statesman sent the Spartan misthios Kassandra to check on his friend. When Kassandra reached Metiochos' home, she found him tied up and threatened by poisonous snakes. She slew the reptiles, and released Metiochos, saving his life.[1]

Metiochos requested Kassandra to find out who was behind the attempt on his life, and Kassandra did so, finding the ones responsible in the poor quarter of Athens.[1]
