Medusa

Medusa was a Gorgon who was slain by the Mycenaean founder Perseus with a Sword of Eden.[1]

Greek legend popularly describes her as having had hair composed of live, venomous snakes and a visage so monstrous that all who beheld it turned into stone. According to the myth, she was also the only mortal Gorgon.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan mercenary Kassandra encountered the creature during her adventures.[2]

In addition, owing to her ferocity, a rare heavy weapon acquired by the Medjay Bayek in Cyrene in 47 BCE was named after her.[3]
