Andras was an Athenian soldier who served under Rhexenor during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography
Around 424 BCE, Andras was assigned by Rhexenor to distract the actor Thespis and make him to drunk to miss his rehearsal performance of Aristophanes' play, which sought to tarnish the general Kleon's reputation.[1]
Andras and antics were discovered by the misthios Kassandra, who learned of their's and Thespis' whereabouts from an Athenian guard. Kassandra was able to convince Andras and his guards to leave, allowing her to carry a drunken Thespis back to her home.[1]
Trivia
